Hello everybody. After JT65 operation became widespread, there have been no EME dxpeditions to C3,a country much sought after by moonbouncers. Because of this, I contacted Juan Sauri' (C31US),President of the Andorra ARC(hereafter URA),with a view to again activate Andorra on JT65B EME.

As concurrently the URE (Spanish AR Association) is celebrating its 60th anniversary, an agreement has been reached between the two associations to activate Andorra on EME on 144 and 432 MHz. There has never been 432 MHz.JT65B operation from C3 as yet.

Work conditions:

VHF – Antennas  4 x 13 el.  3.25 WL  total gain 19.3 dBd – PA 2 x 4CX250B K2RIW design made by EA3DXU.

UHF – Antennas  4 x  28 el. 9 WL  total gain 23.3 dBd  -  PA  with a tube  GS31B about 1 KW.

Rigs : TX  Kenwood TS790  - RX Icom  IC-910H

Antennas, tower and stacking are made for this dxpedition and tested during the last ARRL EME Contest with  good  result.

The URA wishes the dxpedition to be a memorial to my brother EA3DXU (SK), and will ask the Andorra Telecommunications Authority to make the call C37DXU available for it, in remembrance of the several times he operated on EME from C3 both on 144 and 1296 MHz.

The seat of the expedition will be the Camp de la Rabasa, in the Naturland park, at 1600 m.a.s.l.(locator JN02SK) with operation on 144 on July 22-23-24-25 and on 432 on July 26-27.

Local moonrise will be about 1 hour later than regional on account of high mountain peaks nearby(reaching to 2600 meters),and moonset will be 30 minutes earlier than regional for the same reason. Andorra is situated in a narrow valley, encircled by high mountain peaks, some of them 2900 meters high.
